Artist Biography
I didn't even touch clay until nearly sixty. Late Start. First touched clay at Mission Beach when I retired from teaching. Then I was hooked for life. No lessons, just self taught. I'd had enough of classrooms. I never know what I'm going to do before I begin. Just a big lump of clay and then hours later a face seems to emerge all on its own. It's a surprise to me. Thus every piece is different. Clay gives me freedom, joy and a creative life I never expected. I feel so lucky to now call Currarong home.
